French forests face increasing wildfires due to climate change and our diminished connection to them. Once central to our beliefs and legends, forests are now merely picnic spots. Can we restore this link and turn humans into forest guardians?
In Bormes-les-Mimosas, Mont des Roses exemplifies the nature/culture divide: filled with flammable mimosas, yet culturally significant. This fire-prone area offers a new way of inhabiting the space, with water guiding inhabitants through the vegetation. A watchtower serves as a new totem, watching over the forest and embodying memories of past fires.
